Based in Beaumont Street, Oxford, I offer psychological services for a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties and personal development.
As a counselling psychologist, I am trained in a range of therapeutic techniques and ideas to consider a person's difficulties from a number of perspectives and offer therapy based on a person's needs and on current research evidence.
Many of us suffer from varying degrees of distress at some point in our lives and making the decision to seek help can be difficult. Having made the decision to contact a psychologist, it is important the person feels safe and secure within a professional environment provided by a competent and experienced practitioner. As a registered psychologist, I am committed to the codes of ethics for the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS) and adhere to their professional standards and practices.
Recognising the different techniques we could use, I am trained and experienced in a number of different models, including cognitive behavioural (CBT), psychodynamic and humanistic person-centred approaches. I value and respect that each person is an individual, a unique human being, who is complex with his or her own values and goals. Throughout therapy I am guided by the question of what treatment, by whom, will be the most effective for this individual person with these specific problems.
